Sticks and no stones

Soil Date 15.37

Today, I moved some dead branches and limbs away from my scattered woodland boxelder trees to make access for maple sugaring season.

There is a simple satisfaction in collecting and moving these materials. You feel the strength the living tree or shrub once gave to it. It’s time has passed and is ready to be returned to the earth.

While it will do that without me collecting the material, I have long gained pleasure in this task. The joy of clearing brush.
