The Land

I am from a human tradition that believes that a Creator formed the sky, its lights, its waters, its land, its plants, and its other lifeforms. So, the waters and land I live on are essentially documented in Genesis 1:6-12. During this creation, the Creator declared it was good and then very good.

Over 150 years ago, humans surveyed this land on which I now live and steward. They documented the lake and lake edge, the savanna, bluff edge, the prairie up top on the bluff and the trail. The lake would be come to be called Dean Lake after the first Euro-American settler, Matthew Dean, who lived on the lake and became a township leader for Eagle Creek Township (since annexed by the City of Shakopee). The trail is now present day Eagle Creek Blvd.
